i want know the difference between "SQL Server 2005 -Std Edition" and "SQL Server

hai to all,

i want know the difference between "SQL Server 2005 -Std Edition" and "SQL Server 2005 Std license"

can any one tel regarding that.

IF both descriptions refer to SQL Server, then there probably are no differences. The best way to know the product is to check the SKU.

However, since the word 'license' is not capitalized, I wonder if it should have been SQL Server 2005 Std Single Processor License"?

You are going to have to provide more information. I've told you all that I can with the little information available.

Are you attempting to verify your product?

Are you attempting to verify a product that you may purchase?

Where did you get this product information?

The primary question to answer is how will users connect to the SQL Server.

Each Edition of SQL Server comes in two 'license' configurations, a version that requires each user to have a 'Client Access License' (CAL), and a version that allows unlimited users -and each users does not require a CAL.

If your application serves public internet users, where you cannot control or assure that each user has a valid CAL, you must use the 'Processor License'. If your application serves internal clients, where you can be certain that each user has a CAL, then you can use the version that requires CALs.
