i want to work on both (internet & sql server) simoultaniously.

hi friends

DNS entry is a must in my PC to connect to internet but i canot connect to an MS SQL database server
installed on another machine on same lan. but if i remove DNS entry in my PC i could connect to MSSQLServer but i canot connect internet. i want to work on both simoultaniously.
some one please suggest what to do ..?

HI,

I had the same thing @. my home. IM having two servers primary and secondary

Primary server --> internet connection available & shared my internet connection and installed sql2005

Secondary server --> I can connect to internet and i can connect to sql using primary server name from this sys

Both the sys are in one-2-one LAN connection and having two ehternet adapaters on primary sys, one for connecting to internet and another one for connecting secondary sys.

i had enabled "share internet option" on the ethernet card that is used to connect to internet in primary sys.
