IBM SDK

When connecting to an INFORMIX database with SQL Servers Linked Server tool, the ifxoledbc.dll (which is part of IBM's SDK) is used. Which version of IBM's SDK and the ifxoledbc.dll work with SQL Server 2005 and Informix Dynamic Server 7.3? I'm getting an the following error (confidential is the artificial name of my linked server):

Msg 7302, Level 16, State 1, Procedure sp_tables_ex, Line 41

Cannot create an instance of OLE DB provider "Ifxoledbc" for linked server "CONFIDENTIAL".

I'm using SQL SERVER 2005 and I'm trying to connect to a INFORMIX Dynamic Server 7.3 through a linked server.

Do I need an update with IBM's SDK or am I not set-up properly?

Thanks,

Matt

I need to connect to SQLServer 7.0 from a Linux box using php

Has anyone got experience connecting to a MS SQL Server 7.0 over the
Internet from a Linux Web Server using PHP4.3.x ?
This for a Real Estate MLS IDX feed.
I have heard I can use ADODB and another said FreeTDS (Tabular
DataStream) protocol can be used. Not sure if these people had any
experience with it.
use ODBTP (http://odbtp.sf.net).
imho it's by far the best way to get PHP and MSSQL together (on both,
Windows and Unix/Linux boxes)

|||Well, ADODB is a library, ODBTP a PHP extension you can't compare those two,
in fact you can use ADODB with ODBTP
The biggest plus for ODBTP compared to other extensions is it's great
Unicode support and it's easier to handle than freeTDS

I need help connecting Access 97 to SQL Server 2000

I have an Access 97 database that I connect to a SQL Server 2000
through ODBC. I have to manually set up the ODBC connection on each
user's machine if I want them to be able to use the application though.

Is there a way to store the connection string within the Access DB so
I don't have to touch the ODBC settings on each user's machine? Or is
there a different solution that I'm missing? There are way too many
for me to
setup. Thanks in advance.aperez@.easternbk.com wrote:

Use DSN-less connection strings. Like this (all one line):

ODBC;Driver=SQL Server;
Server=ServerName;Database=DBName;Trusted_Connecti on=Yes

Trusted_Connection=Yes means you're using Windows Logon security
(recommended).

If you have attached (linked) ODBC tables, you'll have to change the
tables' Connect property using VBA.
